challenge project quilt #7

So I'm new to this group, and was so excited to find it through pinterest. Each week a new challenge will be posted on monday. The participants have till the following Sunday at noon to post their finished projects. Exciting, inspirational and will help me get my projects done!! (Due dates Really help me .)

Anyway my first challenge  is "Confetti ". Ok confetti means to me celebration, a joyous occasion.
With that in mind, I thought for a few days about it. I work as a nurse at a day surgery center.our director is turning 65 on January 31st. I'm the party planner by default and we have started planning a surprise bday celebration for her. My boss is turning 65, a reason to celebrate! She's active, been a nurse over 40 years and inspiration to many nurses, doctors and patients!I love to make handmade gifts so this challenge will be my gift to her. Let's celebrate with some confetti!!woohoo

I started a quilted tote. I love totes, they are useful, you can't have enough. I only used scraps and fabric I had in my stash. Pictures will show my process..

1/9/16 DONE! The tote is 16x20. Title :Celebrate 65!
